Catie & Jaap

Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

Our Amsterdam Guide

We chose to get married in Amsterdam because it is the setting for our love story: the city where we met, fell in love, and started building our life together. The opportunity to share this city with many of our loved ones for the first time is extra special; several of Catie’s family and friends have not had the opportunity to visit since she moved across the pond, and it’s Jaap’s home turf, filled with community and 15+ years of memories.

Below we’ve compiled a small handful of our favorite Amsterdam spots, as well as the top sights to see. Whether your visit is long or short and sweet, we hope you’ll love this charming city as much as we do. For a more robust guide, check out Your Little Black Book.

Lastly, Amsterdam is a great jumping-off point for other European adventures. May we suggest the Croatian coastline, the Fjords of Norway, or bustling Berlin? Amsterdam is well connected via train or plane, so we highly recommend making the most of your time here, and we can’t wait to see what you discover.
